The Parish Council objects to this application on five points.

1 GREEN BELT - This must remain green. It is at its most narrow at Chalfont St Peter. If we build on it, there won't be any green belt left. If we continue to make excuses to build, there won't be any green belt left for future generations.

2 INFRASTRUCTURE - one can write reports to prove anything. The
applicant's reports do not alter the fact that the basics (schools, doctors, roads, sewers, etc) are stretched now, let alone with the addition of this large development.

3 HIGH DENSITY - the high density of this development is higher than in
any part of the village and certainly in this part of the village, where that density is most inappropriate and out of keeping with the surroundings.

4 ROADS - it is narrowness of the country lanes surrounding the development
that will not be able to accommodate the extra traffic generated.

5 DRAINAGE - this is perhaps the most important objection. Thames Water say that they will check whether there is sufficient capacity for this development. Thames Water say that, if not, they will upgrade the drains "when they can". There has been much development over the last 50 years. The additional surface water drainage that has been added to the combined foul & rainwater sewers during that time has overloaded the system. It is not 'rocket science' to realise that the drains at CSP are already overloaded. The evidence is with us now every winter, with effluent running into the streets in the centre of the village. The drains clearly cannot cope with this additional development. From replies received from Thames Water, it is very clear that they have no intention of upgrading the sewers in the foreseeable future, because they haven't the millions necessary!
