Site map of NSE at Chalfont

The yellow line is the border to the site the NSE actively uses in its day-to-day business. Let's call that the Existing Developed Site (or EDS for short.)

There are many single-storey buildings, widely distributed across the EDS. There are several 2-storey buildings near Chesham Lane and some of these have been 'Listed.'

The EDS perimeter is approximately:
  *  30% with a minor road,
  *  20% with residential housing, and
  *  50% greenfield.
The low-density building within the EDS creates an excellent buffer zone between the Colne Valley Park and the residential housing of Chalfont St. Peter.

There has been a small hostel development (by the NSE) at 'Sarcus Dean' on Rickmansworth Lane since this map was prepared.

The blue line is the boundary of the NSE's proposed land sale for the £60Million housing development set out in OTNFC in July 2003. Much of this is greenfield (it's ALL Green Belt) adjacent to the Colne Valley Park.

Note also the buildings within the blue boundary. Some of these (including the recently built bookbinding plant) are not care homes. The NSE's proposals include the costs of demolishing them and rebuilding them elsewhere on Green Belt land.

The area covered by the proposed housing estate is approximately 50% of the NSE's EDS.

May 2004

The NSE have upper their cash required from a land sale from £25Million to £32Million. The amount of land involved naturally increased and is shown here edged in purple.

They propose a new road access to the housing estates from Chesham Lane. Note that the road passing through the new/old elements would be blocked off, effectively segregating the NSE's site from the housing estates.
